Financial Position

Our Vision | Draft Budget and Plan | What You Told Us |

Northamptonshire County Council, like all local authorities, is facing tough financial challenges.

The graph below is a simple illustration of the financial challenge we are faced with solving over the next four years. The rising green bands represent the increasing demand for, and therefore cost of, our services. The black line represents the amount of funding we will have available going forward.

The pie chart indicates where our funding came from in the current financial year. Only 24% comes from council tax, while the majority, 70%, came from central government funding.

The following two graphs show where our money is spent. The first gives a broad overview of expenditure by age while the second gives an idea of per capita spend. What these graphs show is that we spend most of our money on the very old or very young. With an ageing population the second graph gives some indication of where our financial pressures will be in the future.

still lack of qualtty of care on standards of serivces of provision both by nss/ health / soical care to those most in need, so more cuts will only make these human beings wrose, and let to help themselfs, yet thier qualty of life WILL be les and with those no contacts with fmaily or ferinds to help them, thier lives will be left with no meaning and more care to them, then will be needed, when thye become worse, because of the cuts, if the bankers, and the eilte, whom caused this funding criss, had not happened, all uk and around the world, will not be making human beings suffer, and yet, its those whom do have money and contections that will as always, get the help thye needs for themselves or family, so going back to the dark ages, defend our human rights and common laws , of these compaines wanting to cut and make money for thier top paid staff, and bring the level of funding blance for northnats and uk and rest of our world,
