Northamptonshire County Council believes in providing the right services in the right ways.
An example is our move to let you do more things online. On our website you can report a pothole, apply for a job or a school place and take part in all our consultations. Customers have told us this 24/7 access to services is what they want. It is also a much cheaper way of delivering services which means we can direct savings to front line services.
We’re here to help you when you can’t help yourself. . .
Adult social services and children’s services are two examples of where we are here to help people who can’t help themselves.
We support older people in the later stages of their life when they have trouble living without help, we find homes for children in our care and we ensure all children across the county have access to a good education.
Some of our services, such as road maintenance and Fire and Rescue, would be dangerous or impractical for you to do yourself.
We want you to see us as a trusted advocate . . .
As well as delivering important services we feel it is important to use our position as a county council to speak up for residents of Northamptonshire.
For example, we recently challenged previous governments’ assessment of our population figures which determines how much money we will get from central government.
